CEIP in Calgary: the residential stream
Closed as we write this, and reopening on 22 September at 9 a.m. Worth setting a reminder for — Calgary's earlier rounds have taken millions in requests within days of opening.
What it offers when it is open:
- Up to 100% of project costs, to a maximum of $50,000
- An estimated fixed rate of 5.66%–5.75%, locked when you sign
- Up to 20 years to repay, through your property tax bill
- Around $20 million available across the programme
Two requirements catch people out. You need an EnerGuide home evaluation first, and the work must be done by a CEIP-qualified contractor. We are a CEIP Contractor, which means a system we install is eligible — but book the evaluation early, because it sits on the critical path. For the work itself rather than the financing, our page on solar panels in Calgary covers what an installation involves.
